Neutral chat-mode contract and progress streaming, local browser concurrent execution with if/repeat control flow, paired bootstrap transition evaluation gates, and macOS Companion static Node packaging. MAIN SNAPSHOT / EVIDENCE

This week in OpenMake

As of November 5, 18:38 KST, main 1425747f advances W45 with 104 commits and 12 tagged releases (1.121.1 through 1.125.1). Neutral chat-mode contracts (contracts PR-H1-1) and migration 196 landed to establish chat_mode_progress, would_route_to, and addonToolIntentTurns, aligning web frontend consumption and dual-writing addon_tool_intent columns for orchestration shadow observation. Local browser automation (local-bridge) separated execution coordination into dedicated files to enable concurrent runs across task-specific windows, introducing bounded control flow (if/repeat) in action arrays. Model transition gates integrated paired bootstrap evaluation to rigorously judge pass-rate regressions, and macOS Companion (desktop-native) builds packaged official static Node binaries instead of Homebrew dynamic links. Chat scrolling was narrowed to message width with lateral wheel forwarding, artifact panels gained strict viewport clamping, and Knowledge DB access was routed through runtime-ports with deleted-space job filtering.

Full-history review and additions

Across 104 commits, releases 1.121.1 through 1.125.1 shipped. Neutral chat-mode contracts (contracts PR-H1-1: chat_mode_progress, would_route_to, addonToolIntentTurns, and migration 196) were introduced and aligned with web frontend consumers. Local browser automation (local-bridge) gained task-specific window separation for safe concurrency across runs and bounded control flow (if/repeat) in action arrays. Model transition gates integrated paired bootstrap evaluation to rigorously detect pass-rate regressions, and macOS Companion (desktop-native) builds packaged official static Node binaries instead of Homebrew dynamic links. Chat scrolling was refined to message width with lateral wheel forwarding, artifact panels gained strict viewport clamping, and Knowledge DB queries were routed through runtime-ports.

All reachable history of main 1425747f was rechecked on 2026-11-05. Counts use committer dates from Monday 00:00 through Sunday 23:59:59 KST, including merges, releases and distinct parallel-branch commits. Commit counts are not feature counts. Tests and operational measurements below are historical source records, not evaluations rerun for this refresh.

Snapshot checked November 5 at 18:38 KST. General tags range from 1.121.1 to 1.125.1, including neutral chat-mode contract and progress streaming, local browser concurrency and control flow (if/repeat), paired bootstrap transition evaluation, and static Node bundling for the macOS Companion.

What changed

  • Established neutral chat-mode contracts and frontend consumption (H1-1, PR #1634, #1639). Added neutral chat-mode contracts to @openmake/contracts with database migration 196, maintaining backwards compatibility with legacy contracts while updating the web frontend to directly consume neutral chat_mode_progress and addonToolIntentTurns. Introduced dual-write logging on addon_tool_intent columns and neutral would_route_to labels for shadow observation, refreshed iOS OpenMakeKit Generated contracts, and resolved null-mode non-streaming pipelineInfo edge cases (1425747f, 1cefb57c, 0a631c52, c0801ee1, 93fedd06, 46c498ea, 7f9a3283, 4d5c4727, 3a00b920, e775a8a3).
  • Implemented local browser concurrency with task-specific window separation (local-bridge). Decoupled the local browser execution coordination layer into standalone modules to run tasks concurrently across separate browser windows without cross-task interference. Added bounded control flow primitives (if and repeat) to browser action arrays while enforcing strict stop and control-takeover policies during condition evaluation (ae00ee42, b80a6b58, 15f0f30a, 754b739a, 38ecc44c).
  • Introduced paired bootstrap transition evaluation gates (RSI-A paired eval). Improved model replacement and routing transition gates by replacing naive mean comparisons with paired bootstrap confidence intervals, rigorously detecting pass-rate drops. Task run logs record repeat markers and validate bootstrap iteration counts for verifiable benchmark rigor (b44234f0, 1a2c93de, f140012c).
  • Packaged official static Node.js binaries for the macOS Companion. Refactored desktop-native build.sh to fetch and package official static Node release binaries whenever the host environment provides Homebrew dynamically linked versions, eliminating runtime compatibility crashes. Extracted node packaging into dedicated testable helper functions with mapped CI coverage (2ed6b176, 8304ff8e, 47928473).
  • Refined web chat scrolling and artifact panel viewport clamping. Constrained chat scroll columns to message content width and forwarded mouse wheel events from lateral empty margins into the active conversation stream. Clamped restored artifact panel widths strictly against window widths when resizing or when parent row widths evaluate to zero (7d29a578, 0a544503, 9460d2bb, cbf93635, dac234c0, 2e8b628a).
  • Enhanced DGX gateway environment resolution and deployment resiliency. Ensured DGX environment probes resolve config os.environ references against the LiteLLM gateway env file (OMK_LITELLM_ENV), warning on unresolvable keys and continuing safely without halting deployments (5a1d7df4).
  • Decoupled Knowledge DB access and corrected space job counting. Unified Knowledge component database queries through the runtime-ports db-access layer, and filtered soft-deleted and permanently deleted spaces from admin jobCounts metrics to prevent statistical skew (fc42f2d3, 7865c168, 48a4b88e).
  • Cleaned dead code, standardized ports, and enriched admin health metadata. Unified the default API port 52416 under @openmake/config PORTS.API, purged unused .env.example variables, test-only functions, three obsolete user-key isActive=false branches, and seven dead exports. Expanded admin /api/health responses to return running product versions and Git build commits (0de0a872, 19f9ed05).
